Llamas

Meet Cheese, the future stud of our little hobby farm. This fine feller is about a yr and a half old..  We got this little guy from a llama farm down in Northern Missouri, Rolling Hills Llamas.  He is full brother to the 2007 Reserve National Grand Champion. He should produce babies that have a nice light wool.

His Bloodlines are heavy on the Chilean, and you can tell by his handsome looks. This is the llama that started it all for us. Pedigree.

We are just starting out with llamas here. I am not sure if his wool will be any good this year, because it is riddled with burrs. I am not going to attempt to brush them out yet, because the weather is entirely way too cold and we do not want to loose any of his warm woolly fur. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. You can see how filthy he is…….

Her name was Mac, but she responds to Max.

Here is Max, she is an already bred female Llama  from the same farm. They had not had her long, before she came to us. She is a very sweet llama and is very curious and very trusting of us. She also does not let a horse or pony take her grain without some conversation. It is really amusing to watch this girl. Max has even stronger Chilean lines in her. Her father is the famous llama, THE CONDOR. Pretty neat!  Pedigree

Both of our first 2 llamas are ILR registered and we plan on breeding llama

s under that registry. We are still feeling around to see if we can find our nitch. Maybe we will train llamas for packing or guarding… Or perhaps as the world’s most unusual pets…  Keep watching this page for updates!
