We spent 2 nights at the campground down the road from our house. It was packed and well, there was partying going on all around our tent till the wee hours of the morning. Other than the noise, it was super fun.

I was the one who took all of the photos, so there is none of me.. Next time… Enjoy the pictures!

Tomorrow I have the day off, making the holiday weekend a 4 day fun fest. Tomorrow, in the AM, I have some people from freecycle coming to pick up some stuff while the family is away.. he he he.. In the afternoon, I will head out to the campground 3 miles away and pay for a tent site. Then after the husband is home from work and kids are home from school we will pack up the Element and head out to camp. Woohoo… I picked up a couple new battery powered lanterns at costco today.. These will be our 2008 addition to our camping gear. I found it on their website and it is much more expensive. Huh, I wonder if they are selling them for less, due to end of season?

We are going to try and camp 2 days.. Let’s see how that goes with the girls. Here is a photo from our last camping trip.

Yes she is…

We adopted a nameless bred pygmy goat yesterday and my lovely daughters appropriately named this new addition to Wind Ranch- Jamie Lynn Spears..

So far, Jamie has been rather bitchy, maybe she does not like her new digs.. She has been asserting herself as the alpha. At first we were worried that Awesomeow might get hurt from her, but we have been watching. He is starting to run when she comes his way..  Poor “NutBoy”.

She is due to kid in Mid September. The breeder said she has twins in there and she has had one set of twins before. She knows what to do. Whew.

After we get the horse shed rebuilt, then we are going to tackle the goat fence and little goat shed. These little goats can clear a 4 foot fence with no problem. We continuously have to rethink the fence situation. Right now the only thing that works is using the horse round pen with cheap welded wire attached inside. They use their little horns and lift the wire to get out, so we end up attaching meal posts to the bottom to make it harder. We found “goat fence” at the Tractor supply store and are going to pick some of that up and put it in, then attach a string of electric fence near the bottom and top, to keep these little geniuses in.

I feel so country..

Rebuilding the Run In Shed.

Rebuilding the Run In Shed.

After the tornado last month, we are finally getting time to do some rebuilding.. Croy and I have been working on the shed this weekend. We have the frame up mostly now.. Snapped this with the iPhone a couple hours ago.

Xoe had a friend over night (last night), so this morning before the heat and humidity picked up Croy and I got a chance to head outside and not be interupted as we put the walls back up.  Awesomow, our Buck goat, was not too helpful, however.. The buggar kept standing where we needed to go.. and he would try eating the nails, screws and wood..

Looks like we are picking up a Pygmy doe this afternoon.  She is not tame- we have a project. Awesomow will be happy.

Welcome to Wind Ranch! This site is under construction. Keep checking back!
